KLM Meet & Seat
It's good that KLM continues on finding innovative ways of making travel more comfortable and fun. This Meet and Seat is quite the bright idea. My only question is, what if the other party would not want you seated next to them (at least based on your profile)? Conversely, what if the person who decides to sit next to you is the last person you would want to be near to? Just curious.
Availability permitting, I assume one can still change seats as long as it's done before the flight. Ultimately, I don't think you would really have much of a choice as to the person who decides to sit beside you (you can't deny them a seat after all), unless you saw their profile early enough to make that last minute decision to transfer (if one's still available, that is).
I just couldn't help imagining a cat-and-mouse-chase scenario, say, a celebrity and a paparazzi (or a stalker, or an overzealous fan) sitting together. The last thing a mouse (in this case the celebrity) would want is to be near a cat. The cat, on the other hand, would want nothing but be close to a mouse.
This sure would create some interesting dynamics, don't you think? We'll see soon enough how things would play out.
